Action Binds to DNA gyrase topoisomerase II or topoisomerase IV
Activity Active against a broad range of gram positive and negative bacteria.
Usage Indicated for bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible
organisms, especially gram-positve bacteria.
Useful when ß-lactam and aminoglycoside resistance is encountered.
Contraindications Hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, other quinolones, or any components.
Pediatric use Safety and effectiveness below the age of 6 not established.
