Action Anti-inflammatory
Usage Indicated for inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment and adnexia.
More efficacious than the alcohols. Can cause significant IOP rise in as little as 3 days.
Contraindications Herpes simplex keratitis, vaccinia, varicella, and most other viral diseases of cornea and
conjunctiva; tuberculosis; fungal diseases; acute purulent infections which may be masked
or enhanced by the steroid; and hypersensitivity to any component of this preparation.
Pediatric use Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
Pregnancy Embryocidal and teratogenic in rabbits given at low multiples of the human ocular dose.
Fungal and bacterial overgrowth, cataract formation, globe perforation possible with long
